Due to popular demand, the film entry deadline for the 12th Annual TromaDance Film Festival has been extended to February 18th. The TromaDance Film Festival has a strict policy of no entry fee for films and FREE admission to all screenings! Tromadance will be held on April 22nd and 23rd in Asbury Park, NJ at the Showroom Theater. Following the TromaDance Film Festivalwill be the legendary closing party at Asbury Lanes.

The TromaDance Film Festival was conceived by Lloyd Kaufman and inspired by Cannibal the Musical and South Park co-creator Trey Parker. Deciding that the mainstream film festivals had become bloated and corrupt playgrounds for the Hollywood elite, The TromaDance Film Festival began in 2000 in Park City, Utah as "the conscience of the Sundance Film Festival."

TromaDance is the fiercely independent film festival that gives innovative up and coming filmmakers a chance for exposure like no other. These are film makers that create movies so unique that no major studio could ever hope to create them. Attending screenings and panels isn't about having an agent or big name connections, all panels and screenings are open to a first come first serve basis, no preferential treatment.

Funding for TromaDance comes entirely from donations. The festival relies on the generosity of those who believe in its cause. Donations can be submitted online via PayPal at, and tax-deductible donations of $100 or more can be submitted online via Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts services organization.

Open in new windowMAN WITHOUT A SADDLE
By Ron Ford

I haven't made a film for over five years now. Divorce and the poor economy have pretty much rocked my world and put me off my game. But now it is time to get back in the saddle, so to speak.

This project began when Mitch Tiner, who was the make-up and effects supervisor on my last four films (THE ROAD, TWIST OF THE VAMPIRE, TIKI and THE SNAKE-MAN), suggested we combine our two favorite genres and make a werewolf western. I remembered Kipling's story, Mark of the Beast, which I had previously adapted as a gangster comedy in my horror anthology DEAD TIME TALES. I always felt I had short changed the story that time around, eschewing its poignant themes in favor of cheap gags. The truth is, it's a powerful story with a lot to say about racism, faith and disillusionment. The original was set in Colonial India in the late 19th century, and I felt it would work very well transferred to the old west; using Native American "Indians" in place of the actual Indians in Kipling's story. The resulting script is, to my mind, the best thing I have ever written.

The story: Three ex-Army regulars, Strickland, Fleete and Barton, are hired to convince a Shoshone shaman to move on to the reservation. The shaman, Tanupah, guards a stone petroglyph, sacred to his people. Fleete, in a drunken fit, urinates on the petroglyph and dishonors its spirit. In retaliation, he is cursed by Tanupah, turning him into a raging creature, half man, half wolf. After subduing the creature (an act which very nearly costs them their lives), Strickland and Barton torture Tanupah until he removes the curse. However, in so doing they all feel deep shame, and forced to examine their belief systems.

Mitch Tiner will be designing and wearing the werewolf make-up. It's going to be an old-school wolf-man, allowing the actor to use as much of his own expressive face as possible.

I also have access to some Hollywood quality miniature trains used for a western I starred in a few years back called Transcontinental. The trains will give us some great production value in a very slick title sequence to set the tone and period of the film.

It has become a labor of love. We plan to take our time, concentrating on theme, performance and period detail to make a thoughtful and entertaining film which will hopefully garner much attention on the festival circuit.

We are currently in pre-rpoduction and plan to shoot over the summer of 2011. The small cast and crew have already been assembled, utilizing some of the finest people in the area; all with many film credits to their names.

We are currently raising funds through Kickstarter. Please see our pitch at ... 1075/man-without-a-saddle

ORLOFF series. In this Orlo shocker, William Berger (KEOMA, FIVE DOLLS FOR AN AUGUST MOON) stars as the diabolical doctor who unleashes a nightmare of hypnosis, violence and folk music on a crippled young woman (Mona Proust of DIARY OF A NYMPHOMANIAC) and her depraved family. Film Fanaddict News : DINOSHARK available on Blu-ray and DVD April 26th!
Posted by Miranda on 2011/1/20 19:32:56 (1976 reads)

Open in new window“Dinoshark is epic” -

“I loved every minute of it.” -

For millennia, it slept inside a frozen glacier: waiting to be set free. But with an unexpected shift of climate, the glacier cracked, and what was once extinct was reborn to unleash terror in a brave new world. On April 26, Anchor Bay Entertainment releases the hit Syfy Channel original movie Dinoshark on Blu-ray and DVD.

Born in Antarctica, Dinoshark noses his way down the warmer currents to Mexico , towards a popular vacation spot crowded with party-goers unwittingly ready to fall prey to a prehistoric eating machine. When the killings begin, it becomes clear that no normal animal can be responsible for such savagery.

Local captain Trace McGraw (Eric Balfour – “24”, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Skyline) and marine biologist Carol (Iva Hasperger – “ CSI ”, “Cold Case”) seem to be the only ones convinced that the creature terrorizing their shores is something other than the expected man-eating shark. They enlist the help of the world’s only expert on the Dinoshark (Roger Corman himself). Together, will they be able to reel Dinoshark in?

Dinoshark is the story of a terrifying sea-creature that threatens to turn a holiday swim into a bloodbath. This fierce, finned predator has to be seen to be believed: if he will let you live that long! Bonus feature includes a full-length commentary track with producers Roger and Julie Corman.

Film Fanaddict News : LET ME IN available on Blu-ray and DVD February 1st!
Posted by Miranda on 2011/1/20 19:30:00 (1936 reads)

Open in new windowOfficial Synopsis:

From Matt Reeves – the director of Cloverfield – comes the new vampire classic that critics are calling “chillingly real” (Scott Bowles, USA Today), “one of the best horror films of the year” (Cinematical) and “a haunting, touching and unforgettable thriller” (Pete Hammond, Boxoffice Magazine). In bleak New Mexico, a lonely, bullied boy, Owen (Kodi Smit-McPhee of The Road), forms a unique bond with his mysterious new neighbor, Abby (Chloë Grace Moretz of Kick-Ass), who moves from town to town with the man who appears to be her father (Oscar® Nominee Richard Jenkins of The Visitor). Trapped in the mind and body of a child, however, Abby is forced to hide a horrific secret of bloodthirsty survival. But in a world of both tenderness and terror, how can you invite in the one friend who may unleash the ultimate nightmare?

Starring Kodi Smit-McPhee (The Road), Chloë Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass), Elias Koteas (Shutter Island), Cara Buono (“The Sopranos”), and Oscar nominee Richard Jenkins (The Visitor), Let Me In is a poignant coming-of-age story and a bone-chilling horror film as a bullied young boy befriends a young female vampire. In a pop-culture landscape littered with the bloodthirsty undead, Let Me In stands out as a very different kind of vampire movie – a haunting meditation on the difficult and often painful transition into adolescence. Based on the Swedish novel, Let the Right One In, “Let Me In is a dark and violent love story, a beautiful piece of cinema and a respectful rendering of my novel for which I am grateful.” (John Ajvide Lindqvist, author)

Genre fans and DVD aficionados will be thrilled with the generous amount of bonus features on the Let Me In Blu-ray, including the much-talked-about visual effects piece, “Car Crash Sequence Step-By-Step”, with commentary from Director Matt Reeves; “From The Inside: A Look at the Making of Let Me In”; “The Art of Special Effects”; Unrated Deleted Scenes; Trailer Gallery: Greenband Trailer, Redband Trailer; and a Poster and Still Gallery. The Blu-ray™ edition also includes the Blu-ray exclusive: “Dissecting Let Me In”, as well as a digital copy of the film. And if that wasn’t enough, both editions include a Let Me In comic book with an exclusive cover designed by award-winning comic book artist Sean Phillips.
