Film Fanaddict News : FRAT HOUSE MASSACRE available NOW on DVD!
Posted by Miranda on 2011/8/24 17:12:12 (900 reads)

Open in new windowFrom the creators of CAMP SLAUGHTER comes FRAT HOUSE MASSACRE, a true homage to the best of the late 70's grindhouse and early 80's slasher films! Sean (Chris Prangley) and his little brother Bobby (Rane Jameson) thought joining the Delta Iota Epsilon fraternity would be the best time of their lives with parties, freedom, girls and sex. The fraternity president Mark (Jon Fleming of TVs WILL & GRACE and DANTE'S COVE), however, is a little strange. His twisted hazing rituals include extreme physical and mental torture that lead the boys down a horrific path of destruction and death. But death may be just the beginning, as this gritty twisted film unfolds. Inspired by actual events and set in the year 1979, FRAT HOUSE MASSACRE is a disturbing journey through the twisted world of fraternity boys, pledges and the not-so-innocent sorority sisters swept up in their madness. Loaded with violence, gore, nudity and a fantastic music score by Claudio Simonetti, this DVD is the director's cut containing over twenty minutes of additional footage. Director's Commentary, Crew Commentary, Deleted Scenes, Making Of Featurette.

Officially selected by such prestigious film festivals as Sitges, the Toronto International Film Festival and Fantastic Fest.

The teen series about students sent to Saturday School to learn a lesson has become one of the most watched series on KoldCast TV ever since the cliff hanger episode aired two months ago. Recently MTV producers fell in love with series and began posting episodes on their Facebook pages. The Stones cast were able to stay in touch with the fans of the show by doing live interactive broadcasts on Mingle Media TV where they answered questions about the series. Whereas the first season was about getting to know the students at Blair High while focusing more on the psychological elements, the second season moves into full Slasher-Mode. After finally coming together to overcome their differences, the students of Blair High are violently separated and forced to follow Mr. Beckett's new set of rules. One by one he challenges each student's will to live as he pushes his Broken Window Theory to the test. Their objective is to survive. The web series is loosely based on a feature length screenplay of the same name by writers Bart D. Van Bemmel and Jason A. Wheeler that Keeyes was attached to before season one began shooting. The Blood Trilogy Blu-ray presents three pioneering features from Herschell Gordon Lewis with all-new 1080p high-definition transfers and remastered 5.1 DTS HD audio, along with some bloody-good supplements.

Blood Feast (1963)

Nothing so appalling in the annals of horror has ever been seen before. When Mrs. Fremont hires crackpot Egyptian cultist Fuad Ramses to cater a party for her daughter, Suzette, she commits the culinary catastrophe of the century! Fuad immediately prepares a Blood Feast made from the grisly body parts of nubile young women. The world's first (and most notorious) "gore" film, Blood Feast is both shocking and hilarious. It's also the first of the infamous "blood trilogy" from director Herschell Gordon Lewis and producer Dave Friedman.

Two Thousand Maniacs (1964)

An entire town bathed in pulsing human blood from madmen crazed for carnage! The Two Thousand Maniacs of a small Southern town celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Civil War by forcing a handful of Northerners to serve as "guests" for a variety of blood-crazed fun and games. The festivities include a screaming man placed in a rolling barrel lined with nails, a hit-the-bull's-eye carnival game with a pretty gal and a boulder, and a blonde sexpot whose arm is hacked off and barbecued! But before they can slaughter the only smart Yank (Thomas Wood), he and the lovely Terry Adams (Connie Mason, "Playboy's Favorite Playmate") try to escape.

Color Me Blood Red (1965)

The newest trend in art is type O negative! When his girlfriend, Gigi, cuts her finger on a frame, maniacal artist Adam Sorg (Don Joseph) discovers a new shade of crimson that will make his artwork so special—human blood! Squeezing all he can out of his sliced-up fingers, Adam then stabs Gigi in the head, smears her face on a canvas and—voila!—a macabre masterpiece is created. After his bloody new painting causes a sensation on the local art scene, a crazed Adam continues creating sanguine specialties by extracting art supplies from victims outside his beach house. It all goes bad, however, when he zeros in on April (Candi Conder), whose scarlet pigment he plans to remove with an axe.

Film Fanaddict News : WAKE WOOD available NOW on DVD and Blu-ray!
Posted by Miranda on 2011/7/18 11:21:00 (472 reads)

Open in new windowGRIEF-STRICKEN PARENTS TRY TO BRING THEIR DAUGHTER BACK FROM THE DEAD IN A THRILLER FROM THE MOST FAMOUS NAME IN HORROR...WAKE WOOD!

The Heart-Pounding Supernatural Shocker, a New Film From the Reborn and Revered Hammer Films is now available on DVD and Blu-ray.

WAKE WOOD marks a bold return to the gripping stories and atmospheric visual style that made Hammer productions the gold standard of horror via classics like The Curse of Frankenstein, Horror of Dracula, The Hound of the Baskervilles and The Vampire Lovers.

WAKE WOOD tells the story of Patrick and Louise Daley (Aiden Gillen and Eva Birthistle), whose 9-year-old daughter, Alice (Ella Connolly), is killed in a horrific dog attack. To escape their grief, the devastated young parents move to the remote rural Irish community of Wake Wood (the movie was shot on location in County Donegal, Ireland). Sensing Patrick and Louise’s loss, the strange people of Wake Wood introduce the couple to a bizarre pagan ritual that will bring Alice back from the grave – for three days only. The Daleys find the idea disturbing and exciting in equal measure, but once they agree to terms with Arthur, the village’s mysterious leader, a far bigger question looms: What will they do when it’s time for Alice to leave them forever?

In addition to Gillen (12 Rounds, The Wire) and Birthistle (The Children, Ae Fond Kiss), the WAKE WOOD cast includes National Board of Review winner Timothy Spall (Harry Potter, Nicholas Nickleby) and Amelia Crowley (Ella Enchanted). It was directed by David Keating (Summer Fling).

Critic Philip French of The Guardian (UK) said WAKE WOOD is “both touching and scary.” Sky Movies’ Tim Evans said, “Cinematographer Chris Maris has a keen eye while [screenwriter] Brendan McCarthy’s dark narrative makes this a worthy frontrunner in Hammer’s return to the horror fray.”

David Edwards of the Daily Mirror and Nigel Floyd of Time Out London also noted a connection to the Hammer of yore. Edwards wrote, “Thoroughly unsettling from start to finish, WAKE WOOD will please horror fans with its muted palette, ominously creepy atmosphere and neat nods to the best of ’70s British horror,” while Floyd said, “For all its pre-Christian paganism, demon child imagery, blood and guts, David Keating’s rural horror movie is at heart an involving portrait of a young couple struggling to come to terms with the death of a daughter.”

Mixed in with the history of harvesting weed, the seedy side of drug trafficking, information on the medical benefits and even a recipe for pot brownies, are titillating sexual scenes sure to make you 'high' with excitement. Shot with tongue planted firmly in cheek (and maybe elsewhere, too), this flick even features an early appearance by adult film actor John Holmes as a businessman who gives his secretary a bit of 'dick-tation' in his wonderfully wood-paneled office. Heck, even midget Billy Curtis (THE WIZARD OF OZ, HIGH PLAINS DRIFTER) shows up to give his thoughts on pot. This film was previously released on home video in a very truncated version with all the 'naughty' bits removed. Impulse Pictures is proud to present APHRODISIAC! THE SEXUAL SECRET OF MARIJUANA in the much longer sexually explicit version. Bonus Features: Full Length 'Adult' Version of the Film, Chapter Selections.

When an unconscious young drifter is discovered near the monastery, his sexual presence unsettles the young novices, as well as the resident priests. The mans dark charisma ensnares the attentions of the young novices as they are unraveled by their tense obsessions, except for the monk Rafael, who resists the strangers temptations and seeks escape from the doomed cage of the crumbling monastery.

Director Patrick McGuinn (Sun Kissed) and screenwriter Andr Salas (Latin Boys Go To Hell) create an erotic homage to Dark Shadows, Hammer films, and 1970s Italian tales, percolating with a sexual pulse, a menacing tone, a tinge of sly camp, and supernatural evocations. Eulogy for a Vampire was filmed in an atmospheric 19th-century manse in historic Philmont, New York, owned by Eleanor Ambos, the celebrated New York City antique dealer.

"Operatic B-horror! Scarred flesh, ripped bloodlines, and vampire rituals!" Village Voice
