Film Fanaddict News : NEW from Synapse and Impulse Films!!!
Posted by Film Fanaddict on 2012/12/5 13:10:00 (2421 reads)

Two more 'entries' in our fine line of Japanese sleaze from Nikkatsu, SEX HUNTER: WET TARGET and I LOVE IT FROM BEHIND! While rotting away in jail, Okamoto learns of the death of his beloved sister, Natsuko. Violently assaulted by a group of U.S. military men during a drunken joyride, she was found dead by local authorities. Haunted by the tragedy, Okamoto escapes from jail to hunt down and kill those who destroyed the life of his sister. What he uncovers during his investigation is much more horrifying than he could ever imagine! Fueled by rage, he meets the killers one by one as the film explodes into an unbelievable climax of bloodshed. A classic, violent thriller from the vaults of Nikkatsu Pictures, SEX HUNTER: WET TARGET is one of the most controversial entries in their erotic films series.

And in the lovingly titled I LOVE IT FROM BEHIND!, a young girl named Mimei is working hard to get as many “penis prints” as possible. She’s been collecting these works of art since high school, and her goal is to get 100 prints before her arranged marriage within the next month. Seeking help from her lesbian friends Masumi and Rei, she begins chasing various men around Japan. Mimei finally gets her last man and is met with a challenge! He’ll allow her to make a print of his penis only if she can make him achieve ultimate ecstasy. She accepts, but finds out getting what she needs is a lot harder than she imagined! I LOVE IT FROM BEHIND! is jaw-dropping (and, dare we say, pants-dropping) naughty fun!

Film Fanaddict News : Jess Franco's FEMALE VAMPIRE and EXORCISM coming to Blu-ray and DVD!
Posted by Film Fanaddict on 2012/10/7 15:00:00 (2059 reads)

Open in new windowKino Lorber, Inc. announces a new partnership with Eurociné (Paris) for North American distribution of its library of cult classics, highlighted by the erotic thrillers of Spanish-born director Jess Franco. Films will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on the Redemption Films label, as well as other digital platforms. Mastered in HD from archival 35mm elements, the films will be offered in deluxe editions with a carefully curated selection of special features.

For years, Franco has been a favorite of Euro horror enthusiasts -- for the dreamlike tone of his films and the sheer audacity with which he indulges his morbid sexual curiosity. With the release of these Blu-ray editions, Kino Lorber brings Franco to a wider audience, and places him alongside Mario Bava and Jean Rollin in the pantheon of cult directors ripe for rediscovery.

Without a doubt the 40-year partnership of Jess Franco and Lina Romay was one of the most provocative director/actor, husband/wife collaborations in contemporary cinema. For Franco, the horror film was a vehicle through which he could explore his darkest sexual fantasies, and in the mysterious and sensual Romay he found an exhibitionist who not only indulged his every cinematic whim, but did so with absolute confidence and bravado. They remained lovers and collaborators up until Romay's untimely death in February of 2012, at the age of 57.

Eulogizing the actress, Video Watchdog editor Tim Lucas wrote, "No other woman gave quite as much of herself to the fantastic cinema as Lina Romay...Theirs was an ideal meeting of exhibitionist and voyeur, both giving generously to one another in one of cinema's most provocative love stories." In one of the highlights of the release, Franco speaks frankly of his relationship with Romay in the poignant featurette, "Destiny in Soft Focus," filmed especially for this edition.

Daniel Lesoeur, head of Eurociné, commented, "We are happy to provide Kino Lorber the opportunity to make our films available to American audiences in their original versions, remastered from the 35mm negatives, and we look forward to a long and rewarding association."

Black Magic Rites

"Demonic and sexually depraved... keeps one watching in dazed astonishment."
- TV Guide

In a mountaintop castle, devil worshippers hunt down virgins and cut out their hearts to restore life to their Great Mistress Isabella (Rita Calderoni), a witch who was burned to death centuries before.

The castle is purchased by the unwitting Jack Nelson (Mickey Hargitay, former husband of Jayne Mansfield), whose niece Laureen (also played by Rita Calderoni) bears a striking resemblance to Mistress Isabella.

Drawn into the cult's evil orbit, Laureen is targeted as the final sacrifice in order to restore Isabella's terrifying power.

Two Orphan Vampires
"Unflinching and adult." --Tim Lucas, Editor of VIDEO WATCHDOG

"Two Orphan Vampires (Les Deux Orphelines Vampires) follows Henriette and Louise (Isabelle Teboul and Alexandra Pic), two blind girls of unknown origin, raised in an orphanage by two adoring nuns. Little do the nuns know, each night as the sun goes down, their 'little angels' acquire night vision (they 'see blue'), as well as an appetite for blood and teenage mischief.

Rollin's entire filmography, more or less, could be summarized as a poetical consideration of death, termination, and unreality, but coming to terms with his own pending death had a way of affecting how he regarded them (the film was undertaken just as he was diagnosed with kidney failure).

Something previously conceptual and child-like, nostalgic and precious in Rollin's work becomes more concrete and dimensional, unflinching and adult. When they commit one violent transgression against their kindly benefactor, the scene's abrupt and awkward brutality recalls the best of Henri-Georges Clouzot." (excerpt of the essay by Tim Lucas)

The Living Dead Girl

"One of the most emotionally incendiary finales in horror film history."
--Tim Lucas, Editor of VIDEO WATCHDOG

"The Living Dead Girl (La Morte Vivante) is the story of Catherine Valmont (Francoise Blanchard), a wealthy heiress dead before her time, who is accidentally reanimated when some unfortunate movers attempt to store drums of chemical waste in the neglected burial vaults below her uninhabited chateau.

Rollin's 'living dead girl' does everything that cinematic convention requires--she kills people, drinks human blood, devours human flesh--yet, for all this, we accept her as an innocent. Meanwhile, the effect that her resurrection has upon her childhood friend, Helene (Marina Pierro), is infinitely more conscious, deliberate, and evil.

Bloodier and more violent than his own tastes preferred, The Living Dead Girl forced Rollin to work against the grain in his own preferred genre--and he transformed himself in the process. In the unsettling, bloody finale, Blanchard's performance was so intense, so extreme in its confused appetite, revulsion, and glee, the take was nearly interrupted out of concern for the actress's mental health. It's one of the most emotionally incendiary finales in horror film history." (excerpt of the essay by Tim Lucas)

A once thriving Japanese village is in dire need of young, beautiful ladies to help with diving duties. Times are tough and the current diver is definitely no spring chicken, so the mayor's son finds some beautiful maidens to fill the position. Plot quickly takes a back seat, as the arrival of the new recruits gets a rise out of the village's male embers. Let the sex games begin! Culminating in a celebration in which the new diving girls parade around in their tiny bathing suits to bring in cash-laden tourists, this film is a crazy, comedic take on timeless Japanese traditions. Of all the genres endemic to Japanese cinema, the ama, or 'Girl Diver' film, is perhaps the most curious.
NYMPHO DIVER: G-STRING FESTIVAL switches up the formula by replacing beautiful underwater photography with cat fights, nudity and even a crazy perverted monk!

A teacher, Sakiko Kurata (Yuki Kazamatsuri), receives a phone call regarding one of her former students. Young Sueko (Ayako Ota) is accused of being a prostitute and has requested Sakiko's help. This minx seduces random strangers for sex, but does not ask for payment. Sakiko has moved to another town and barely remembers Sueko, but there's something about her that awakens painful memories of her own secretive past. What is that strange paint thinner smell on Sueko? Who is the man in the nylon ski mask that violently assaulted Sakiko many years ago? In her search for answers, Sakiko discovers that her past may have inadvertently destroyed another family's future. The "lusty schoolmistress"ť provided an obvious fantasy figure for Nikkatsu Roman Porno scenarios. There were at least a dozen films made with the FEMALE TEACHER banner, each pitting a plethora of pert young cuties against their more mature and experienced classroom rivals. FEMALE TEACHER: DIRTY AFTERNOON is one of the best, and most controversial, of this series of films.

Film Fanaddict News : Jean Rollin's RAPE OF THE VAMPIRE, REQUIEM FOR A VAMPIRE and DEMONIACS coming to Blu-ray/DVD May 29!
Posted by Film Fanaddict on 2012/5/5 12:42:25 (2830 reads)

Open in new windowKino Lorber and Redemption Release Jean Rollin's The Rape of the Vampire (1968) on Blu-ray and DVD in new HD Masters!

Following the Blu-ray releases of five films by French cult filmmaker Jean Rollin, Kino Lorber and Redemption are proud to announce the release of three erotic horror films made during the prime of Rollin's career: The Rape of the Vampire (1968), Requiem for a Vampire (1973), and The Demoniacs(1974).

These three films come to Blu-ray and DVD mastered in HD from 35mm negatives. Each disc comes with a special 16-page booklet with an essay by Tim Lucas, editor ofVideo Watchdog. Each one has a street date of May 29th, with individual SRPs of $24.95 for the Blu-ray, and $19.95 for the DVD.

Each Blu-ray and DVD comes packed with special features, providing an illuminating look at these unique films. Bonus features on the discs include a special introduction by Jean Rollin, deleted scenes, documentaries, interviews with Rollin's collaborators, trailers, and - on The Rape of the Vampire disc - two bonus short films directed by Jean Rollin. (See below for details of special features included on each disc).

The Rape of the Vampire (1968)
"A psychiatrist (Bernard Letrou) ventures to a remote castle to convince a brood of four vampire sisters that they are misguided, brainwashed by superstitious villagers, and not truly creatures of the Supernatural. The villagers (including director Jean Rollin) confuse and abuse the sisters, before finally storming their castle. The cast descends on a hospital run by a young doctor (Jean-Loup Philippe), charged by the Queen of the Vampires (Jacqueline Sieger) to discover a cure for vampirism. The bewildering action culminates in a "blood wedding" presided over by Sieger, in her regal hot pants, on the legendary stage of the now-defunct Theatre du Grand Guignol. The shoot was anything but professional. Everyone on the crew was making their first film. All copies of the script managed to get lost within two days, which quickly forced the production into improvisation mode. Rollin opted to let the film become what it wanted to become. It was in the spirit of the times to experiment. The resulting film, The Rape of the Vampire (Le Viol du Vampire) is a glorious puzzlement, like nothing else in the horror genre." (excerpt of the essay by Tim Lucas)

Film Fanaddict News : THE THEATRE BIZARRE coming to DVD 4/24/12
Posted by Film Fanaddict on 2012/4/4 12:24:08 (1796 reads)

Open in new windowImage Entertainment presents a horror anthology like no other with its release of The Theatre Bizarre. The film was directed by seven veterans of the horror genre including Richard Stanley (Hardware), Buddy Giovinazzo (No Way Home), Tom Savini (Night of the Living Dead (1990)), Douglas Buck (Sisters), Karim Hussain (Ascension), David Gregory (Plague Town) and Jeremy Kasten (The Wizard of Gore (2007)). This boundary-pushing film featuring stories of ancient evil, love, obsession, addiction, gluttony, sexual nightmares, pain, brutality and of course, death, is now available On Demand with cable and satellite providers, and will be available on DVD April 24, 2012.

Down a seedy city street, a young woman is obsessed with what appears to be a long abandoned theatre. One night, she sees the front door slightly ajar and impulsively decides to sneak inside. But there in the vast, eerie auditorium, a show unlike any other unfolds before her eyes. Its host is an odd marionette-like man who will introduce her to six tales of the bizarre: A couple traveling in a remote part of the French Pyrenees crosses paths with a lustful witch; A paranoid lover faces the wrath of a partner who has been pushed to her limit; The Freudian dreams of an unfaithful husband blur the lines between fantasy and reality; The horrors of the real world are interpreted through the mind of a child; A woman addicted to other people's memories gets her fix through the fluid of her victims’ eyeballs; And a perverse obsession with sweets turns sour for a couple in too deep. But as the stories unfold, something strange is happening to the woman. Something irreversible and horrific. Something that awaits its next audience in The Theatre Bizarre.

The Theatre Bizarre enjoyed a successful 2011 festival run, screening at Fantasia International Film Festival, Frightfest, Sitges Festival De Cine Fantastic and Toronto After Dark. The film began its theatrical release in the U.S. on January 27, 2012 in seven markets including NY & LA, expanding to additional cities across the country.

Those promiscuous schoolgirls are back and more naked than ever, in this eighth installment of the super sexy German softcore series! A two week bus trip to a country hostel turns into a series of crazy sexcapades for some young female students. In a series of eye-and-pants-popping vignettes (a trademark of the Schoolgirl Report series), the girls take us on the ride of our lives and we learn Gisela seduced a worker at her home (watch for a strange "cameo" from Swedish sensation Christina Lindberg here) to open his eyes to the pleasures of lovemaking. Annette is hiding her pregnancy from her parents, because she fears their reaction. A few of the girls turn their prudish Biology teacher from a lame dame, to a boobtastic sexpot. Two skinny dipping teens compare breast sizes as a perverted man swipes their clothes. A beautiful girl dodges huge sticks and balls (on a pool table) as she makes love to her father's boss to keep him from getting fired and, in the final story, blonde bombshell Evi inadvertently reveals one teacher's secret after trying to molest him and confess her love.

A Wham! Bam! Thank you, ma'am! double-whammy sexy slammer double feature from the masterminds of Nikkatsu!

Due to their juvenile crimes, a group of fresh young girls is thrown into a horrid, squalid jail. They soon wish they were back on the outside, as a gang of inmates subjects this “fresh meat”
to the horrors of being locked up. Mayumi, a new inmate with a mysterious past, stands up for herself and fights back! NO ONE is going to push her around, and she hatches an escape plan to seek revenge on the person who had her incarcerated.

is a sleazy, sexually graphic and surprisingly violent entry in the “women in prison” genre. The opening uniform changing, nude medical examination sessions, communal scrubbings in the bathhouse, nimble-fingered lesbians and vicious catfights are all here… and more!

Open in new windowIn DEBAUCHERY, the sexy Ryôko Watanabe stars as Ami, a jaded housewife who pitches herself, body and soul, into the Tokyo decadence of the decade in an attempt to pep up her marriage. She secretly joins the elite “Madame Machiko Society Club” to experiment with discrete sex games and the thrill of making love to anonymous men. The sexual perversion and sick depravity she is subjected to, by her clients, is much more than she bargained for. Bondage, beads and whips are only the beginning! Can she escape this secret life she has chosen, or will it destroy her forever? Impulse Films proudly presents two historic stunners from the heyday of the violent sex film. Nikkatsu always delivers. DEBAUCHERY features an original theatrical trailer and both discs include liner notes from Japanese film scholar
Jasper Sharp.

Film Fanaddict News : CHILLERAMA available on Blu-ray DVD NOW!!!
Posted by Miranda on 2011/12/23 12:07:01 (1923 reads)

Open in new windowChillerama is a Late Night Classic for the new millennium." — Jason Bene,

"The most offensively nostalgic fun time I’ve personally experienced in theaters in I don’t know how long." — Aaronflux, Dread Central

"Ghoulishly good and delicious." — Why So Blu?

"Highly recommended fun." — Fangoria

"Worth checking out for a laugh and some seriously gross-out moments." — Shock Till You Drop

After a triumphant premiere at the famed Hollywood Forever Cemetery and after grossing out, er, entertaining audiences all over the country with a 20-city Roadshow Tour, the long-awaited new cult classic finally comes home!

From the depraved minds of directors Adam Rifkin (Detroit Rock City, The Dark Backward), Tim Sullivan (2001 Maniacs,VH-1’s “Scream Queens”), Adam Green (Hatchet, Frozen), and Joe Lynch (Wrong Turn 2, Knights of Badassdom), CHILLERAMA is a festival of gore, guts, goofiness and good times. In addition to experiencing all the chills, thrills – and goo – of the ultimate midnight movie in high-definition 1080p picture and DTS-HD audio, CHILLERAMA boasts two hours of insightful and heretofore unseen bonus features that delve deep into the creative process of these four renowned directors of the macabre, as they labored and toiled to create a cinematic love letter to horror and film fans.

Produced by ArieScope Pictures and in the spirit of classic “omnibus” films like Dead of Night, Tales From the Crypt, Creepshow and Twilight Zone: The Movie, with four vignettes that not only celebrate the golden age of B horror schlock but also nearly the entire history of horror cinema itself, CHILLERAMA offers something for every bad taste. With titles like “Wadzilla,” “I Was A Teenage Werebear,” The Diary of Anne Frankenstein,” and “Zom-B-Movie,” CHILLERAMA features appearances by Joel David Moore (Avatar, Hatchet), Lin Shaye (Insidious), Ray Wise (X-Men: First Class), Kane Hodder (Hatchet and Hatchet II), Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight, Sharktopus) and more cameos than one can (body)count.

It's the closing night at the last drive-in theater in America and Cecil B. Kaufman (Richard Riehle, Bridesmaids, Hatchet) has planned the ultimate marathon of lost film prints to unleash upon his faithful cinephile patrons. Four films so rare that they have never been exhibited publicly on American soil until this very night! What could possibly go wrong?

Bonus features on CHILLERAMA Blu-ray and DVD include:

Directors' Video Commentary
Wadzilla Deleted Scenes and Trailer
The Making of The Diary of Anne Frankenstein
I Was A Teenage Werebear Behind the Scenes, Deleted Scenes, and Trailer
Zom-B-Movie Deleted Scenes
Directors' Interviews

Open in new windowIn between the mondo mayhem of AUSTRALIA AFTER DARK and the softcore teenage classic FELICITY, producer/director John Lamond schooled the continent with this graphic grindhouse jaw-dropper: What was ostensibly presented as a serious study of sexual behavior is actually an erotically-charged trip through an alphabet of deviant sexual pleasure, including mile-high clubs, female masturbation, mincing homosexuals, hot lesbians, enormous genitals, disco music, rape fantasies, interpretive dance, socio-cultural blathering, relentless nudity and even a bit of creepy stop-motion animation. Marilyn Rodgers (FELICITY) and Maj-Brith Berstrom-Walan of The Swedish Institute For Sexual Research star in this delightfully dubious documentary relic, now fully restored from a print originally seized by the Australian Classification Board and presented uncut & uncensored for the first time ever in America.

From the back alleys of the big cities to the savage cruelty of the outback, discover a continent of pleasure, pain, erotic art, wriggling cuisine, tiny bikinis, alien landings, record-breaking beer consumption and insane amounts of '70s nudity, now fully restored from a print recently discovered in the cellar of the Lower Wonga Drive-In and presented uncut & uncensored for the first time ever in America.
