Rudy Moore was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas. One of 8 children, which in itself is no laughing matter. He got started in show business in Milwaukee at the age of 18, by speaking and preaching in churches. His career began at the Flame Night Club in Milwaukee where as a dancer he performed with a girl partner. His engagement lasted for 26 weeks. Later he traveled to Cleveland and was a versatile talent at producing shows, acting as Master of Ceremonies, dancing, singing, and telling jokes. He worked every place in Cleveland. Among them, The Blue Grass Club, The Ebony Club, and The Riverside Theater in Pittsburgh. From Cleveland he went into the Army and served in Germany. He finally came to Los Angeles where he was discovered by Dootsie Williams at the California Club.
