Synopsis:

Helen, who lives alone, invites her new friend Anne to stay with her in a lonely house, lost in the English countryside. The house, the woods that surround it and the figures fleetingly glimpsed through its windows, all seem imbued with a deep sense of mystery. Helen appears to be hiding a secret and the more Anne tries to uncover it, the deeper she is pulled into its dark heart.

Symptoms was the official UK entry to the Cannes film festival in 1974 and was highly praised at the time. Subsequently the film sank into obscurity and was recently listed as one of the UK's top 75 'lost films'. This release, taken from the original negative and fully restored, brings this quiet masterpiece back into view, where it can now be appreciated as one of the most under rated films of the 1970s.

This movie deals with many themes, from the environment to the use of drugs, but the story is just an excuse that director Domiziano Cristopharo uses to focus on a psychological condition that brings a total detachment from oneself and from the surrounding world. A dark trip that shows no way out.

Written by Pier Paolo Pasolini and directed by Franco Citti, Ostia is an enchanted and dark ballad that unfortunately anticipated the poet's sad demise a few years later. Considered by many critics and scholars the best film that Pasolini never directed, it features Citti's keen eye and ear for the stern reality of the roman sub proletariat. Stylized and brutally honest and yet moving and lyrical, A Violent Life is a forgotten masterpiece of Italian cinema. A film far ahead of its time and ready to be discovered by a new generation of film lovers.

SYNOPSIS:

Assembling here one of the world's finest trash film collectives and eschewing any form of political correctness, the director weaves a garish fleshly tapestry and populates it with Marina Hedman (Frajese) and Patrizia Di Rossi (Webley), two of the most unabashedly erotic actresses in Italian cinema. At the garishly-lit Play Motel, these wayward women (and an assortment of bleached blondes) are first seen being secretly photographed while having kinky sex.
